It remains to be seen that a RM1,500 console, which debuted at over RM3,500 just few years at its maiden launch in the "black markets" has much to offer in this thriving times.
BN is losing its footing, fuel prices are at a high, peoples sentiments are not stabilizing.
Admist all that and speculation of 0916, The Anwar Factor, Sony Malaysia has taken much effort in bringing its PS3 to lil' 26 million population Malaysia. Jokes aside, but with wages as low as RM900/month, who can really afford a RM200 game?!?
And with 1.1 million users paying less than RM20 of electricity bills monthly, that's another dent on the "economics of scale". Definitely, would be interesting to watch how many units of PS3 Sony Malaysia will sell in the months to come.
Regardless of that, I think 100 units are secured, considering the fact that the first 3 customers of the PS3 will get a RM1,000 gift voucher, the next 17 another RM500 gift voucher following by a RM300 gift voucher for the next buyers till the 50th one.
1Utama is the place to line up or camp out! Though, I doubt there would be a line as there's still no price indication of the PS3, 80GB console.
Regardless, I will definitely keep my eyes peel on the Soul Caliber 4 bundled deal that they will be having.
And also, keeping tabs on the "black market" to see how the existing stocks play out. I am sure with fierce competition to a 12-month warrantied unit, consumer will definitely be able to stretch their Ringgit!
